The Effect of Family Disintegration on Low Academic Achievement from the Perspective of Students of the Department of Islamic Education

This study aims to identify the effect of family disintegration on declining academic performance from the perspective of third-year students in the Department of Islamic Education, Mustansiriyah University (2025–2026). The sample consisted of 45 students.
A 31-item questionnaire was used, with validity and reliability verified. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation, weighted mean, and percentage weight. The highest and lowest thirds of items represent the results.
Key recommendations:
- Use the study's indicators to improve student performance.
- Strengthen the role of educational counselors to support students with family issues.
- Adopt individual academic counseling for students facing family difficulties.
Proposed future studies:
- Replicate in other departments of the College of Basic Education.
- Study the effect of family disintegration on academic failure in the same department.
- Conduct an evaluative study of the college's counseling centers.
